The long awaited healthcare reforms bill was passed by the Senate democrats in a climactic Christmas eve vote. “We are now finally poised to deliver on the promise of real, meaningful health insurance reform that will bring additional security and stability to the American people,” Mr. Obama said shortly after the Senate acted. He added that this will the most important aspect in social legislation after the Social Security passed in 19030s. The bills would provide health insurance to more than 30 million more Americans. He also said that this legislation included the toughest measures to make sure that the insurance industry is held accountable.
